Ruth is 45 and has lived in Kent all of her life. She has been married to Sean for twenty five years and they have three grown up children together. Their eldest son and his partner have just made them Nanny and Grandad to baby Emelia.
All her adult life she has worked in the beauty industry mostly in hairdressing and that has been her inspiration to put pen to paper. Having worked so closely with the public over such a long period of time she has obviously heard many real life stories, some funny , some unbelievable and at times some that were incredibly sad.
Having worked so intimately on a one to one basis with individuals she has found that people confide their inner most thoughts weather they be good or bad and although compassion and discretion always ranks high on her list, she has at times been unable to switch off from some of the tales she has heard.
All her work is fictional not based on any one individual, but people’s life stories have inspired her to write and she hopes that they will relate to her work as there will always be a character that one can perhaps see in themselves or identify with.
What I like most of all about her writing is that somehow there’s a simplicity to it and when you have finished the read you really feel as though you have been on a journey with the characters, its almost as if you know them.
Her writing is heart felt and empathetic however she manages to put a little bit of sinister and a darker side in to her stories which will keep you intrigued until the very last page.
