Mustapha Matura won the George Devine and John Whiting awards in 1971 for his first full-length stage play As Time Goes By, which was staged at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh and at the Royal Court, London. He has since written extensively for stage, screen and radio. In 1991 Mustapha received the Trinidad and Tobago Government Scarlet Ibis Award for achievement. He is currently developing a number of projects for television and stage.
