Bernard Muir has taught at Melbourne University for forty years in the fields of manuscript studies (codicology, paleography, and Art History) and Anglo-Saxon Literature and Culture.  Nicholas Sparks trained as a medieval historian with a focus on manuscript studies and book history. He holds a Ph.D. in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic from the University of Cambridge and a Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Canberra.
