    Stephen L. Wagner, Ph D, FACHE, LFACMPE, has been active in the healthcare field for more than 45 years, focusing on the U.S. system and its ongoing transformation. He has extensive experience as textbook author, researcher, and healthcare executive with a long career in medical practice administration. Dr. Wagner served as an executive at the Carolinas Healthcare System (CHS) for 20 years until retiring in 2015.
