Holding onto Hope in a Hurting World

Ondersteuning

When a global pandemic threatens the very foundation of our society,  what hope for healing does a hurting world have?

Parables from the Pandemic: Holding onto Hope in a Hurting World is a collection of beautifully illustrated short stories and reflection questions. The characters we meet in Parables invite us to explore our faith in the context of themes such as regulation and revolution, community and division,  surveillance and freedom, and waiting and redemption. Parables calls readers to question what defines our identity, our humanity, and our destiny. Great for individual reflection or Bible Study, Christian Living,  Theology on Tap, or religious or faith-based book club groups,  Parables shows us no matter what we face on this side of Heaven, the only hope worth holding onto is always by our side.

Over de auteur

Sarah Garment Stone’s Faith Story: The daughter of a Presbyterian pastor, Sarah was probably destined to be on ‘Team Jesus.’ She grew up in the church and believed God was real and trustworthy. In college, she found herself hanging out with the Baptists and feeling close to God. She went on to seminary to get her MA in Counseling and found herself fascinated by the cerebral side of faith and theology. College fed her heart, grad school fed her brain, but it wasn’t until a season of deep suffering that she was forced to really wrestle with her faith, question it all, and by God’s grace, come ‘home’ to the full knowledge of God’s unending love and pursuit of her.
