Current social policy recognises that older people should be treated as experts in their own lives and be actively involved in their care. This book explores what can be learned from older people’s experiences of managing ageing. Denise Tanner is a lecturer in social work at the University of Birmingham. She is a registered social worker with an extensive practice background in social work with adults and also has many years’ experience as a lecturer and researcher. Her particular interests include service user and carer involvement in social work education and research.
