Prof. Harikesh B. Singh Presently working as a Professor in the Department of Mycology & Plant Pathology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Dr. Harikesh B. Singh earned his Ph.D. (Mycology & Plant Pathology) in 1981 from Banaras Hindu University. He served at North Eastern Hill University, Medziphema, India as Lecturer, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Hill Campus, Ranichauri as Senior Research Officer (Associate Professor), CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow as Scientist and CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow as Scientist and Head, Plant Pathology Division. His main research areas include microbial biopesticides & biofertilizers, host pathogen interaction, organic farming and fortified and designer foods. Prof. Singh is fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (India), Indian Phytopathological Society (FPSI); International College of Nutrition (FICN), Indian Society of Mycology & Plant Pathology (FISMPP); Biotechnology Research Society of India (BRSI) and Society of Plant Reproductive Biologists, (FSPRB). Dr. Singh has been conferred CSIR Technology Prize for Biological Sciences, 1999; Vigyan Bharti Award 2000, Prof. V.P. Bhide Memorial Award, 2006; Society for Plant Research, BRSI Industrial Medal Award 2007, Distinguish Scientist Award, 2011, Prof. Panchanan Maheshwari Medal by Indian Botanical Society, 2011, Plant Pathology Leader Award by IPS (MEZ), 2012, CSIR Award for S&T Innovation for Rural Development (CAIRD) 2011 (Team) and Environment Conservation Award in 2013.He is Executive Editor of Indian Journal of Plant Pathology and served as executive and expert member of different committees of Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Uttar Pradesh State Biodiversity Board and Wild Life Committee. Prof. Singh has published 150 research papers, 7 edited books, 1 authored book, 14 technical bulletins, 67 book chapters and review articles, 20 US patents and PCT and developed and commercialized several microbial based biofertilizer and biopesticide technologies.
