In this 1918 novel, set on the eve of World War I, the stolen formula for a powerful new explosive becomes the object of a desperate search by the top spies of the United States, Germany, England, and Japan. The American, a wealthy socialite named Pamela Van Teyl, matches wits—and hearts—with three handsome but deadly opponents.
