Hanif Kureishi wurde als Sohn einer Engländerin und eines Pakistani in London geboren. International bekannt wurde er 1985 mit seinem Drehbuch für Stephen Frears‘ Film ›Mein wunderbarer Waschsalon‹. 1998 schrieb er das Drehbuch zu Patrice Chéreaus Film ›Intimacy‹, der bei der Berlinale 2001 den Goldenen Bären gewann. Für sein Romandebüt ›Der Buddha aus der Vorstadt‹ erhielt er 1990 den Whitbread Prize. Im S.¿¿Fischer Verlag sind von ihm die Romane ›Das sag ich dir‹ und ›Mein Ohr an deinem Herzen‹ erschienen.Henning Ahrens, geboren 1964, lebt als Schriftsteller und Übersetzer in Frankfurt am Main. Er veröffentlichte die Lyrikbände ›Stoppelbrand‹, ›Lieblied was kommt‹ und ›Kein Schlaf in Sicht‹ sowie die Romane ›Lauf Jäger lauf‹, ›Langsamer Walzer‹ und ›Tiertage‹. Für S.¿¿Fischer übersetzte er Romane von Richard Powers, Kevin Powers, Khaled Hosseini.
