Lily and Niko are at childcare when the smoke alarm goes off. Will the kids fire drill practice pay off? Or will their snow day fun go up in smoke along with the toast?
Reading this book is a great way for parents, childcare providers, and caregivers, to talk to toddlers and preschool children about fire drills and evacuation in a non-scary way. You can listen to the song, download a free poster and a fire drill and safety training certificate at train4safety(dot)com. Simply select the Ready Tots and Resources button on the menu.

Heather was raised to give 100% to every endeavor. Since her earliest experiences in Girl Scouts, and involvement in numerous volunteer events and organizations, she has always sought to make a difference. After graduating college, she served our country with 23 years of distinguished Naval service. Dedicated to self-improvement, she obtained Masters degrees in Asian studies, conflict resolution, cyber security policy and emergency management while on active duty. She is qualified as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) with the International Association of Emergency Mangers and earned a Ph D in Emergency Management with a special study focus on childcare recovery. In addition to publishing books to help teach children about what to do in case of disaster, she has also created a nonprofit, BLOCKS. BLOCKS’ mission is to help prepare childcare for disaster. You can learn more about her nonprofit efforts at www.blocksusa.org.
