Jamie Murray
It’s Not About Love (at least not the way you think) [EPUB ebook]

Ondersteuning

When someone betrays you, it has nothing to do with love, or lack thereof. Well, at least not in the way you think.

In this raw, vulnerable book that’s part memoir, part crisis-management guide, Jamie Murray, best-selling author of How Many Kids Do You Have? is once again saying out loud what so many of us are managing in silence. She reveals that when someone is unfaithful in a relationship, it has nothing to do with a lack of love for their partner and everything to do with a lack of love for themselves.

In the aftermath of infidelity, it’s easy to allow hate to lead the way. But what if we could stop focusing on why we’ve been cheated on, how someone could do this to us, and whether our partner ever really loved us and instead focus on loving ourselves more?

Through snarky wit and candid confessions, this book guides us through how to manage the trauma of betrayal without allowing it to define us.

When we can depersonalize the hurt of infidelity, when we can understand that it’s not about love, we can better lead our families through the often-devastating consequences of someone else’s actions. We can better manage our feelings and make healthier choices for ourselves and our families, which ultimately reminds us that we can’t learn to love others until we learn to love ourselves first.

Jamie Murray is a best-selling author and the CFO of the commercial construction company she owns and operates with her husband in San Antonio, Texas. Jamie became a mother at seventeen years old and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master of arts degree in women’s studies at Texas Woman’s University in North Texas. Before becoming an entrepreneur and an author, Jamie was a high school English teacher for many years. Today, she spends her days juggling the demands of running a family and a company while building a brand centered around saying out loud what humans all over the world are managing in silence.
