This innovative book is a theoretical, reflexive and critical overview of the key issues connected to aging in contemporary society. The book explores how aging has been theorized which has increasing implications for socio-economic issues for individuals and populations. The book also explores the interaction between method-theory dualism through the concept of narrative which is quickly on its way to becoming the most context sensitive analytical frameworks to examine instances of aging identity. Related to this, the book then explores some of the major impacts on embodiment and how it impinges on aging identity. Contentiously, the biggest social horizon for gerontologists to grapple with are global interpretations of aging which along with climate change is one of the greatest sustainable challenges for every nation states across the globe requiring not just critical questions but research informed solutions. We hope the book is both inspiring and enriching for researchers, teachers, students, practitioners and policy makers both nationally and internationally.
