This is a fantasy that turns the story of Hansel and Gretel upside down and sideways. The evil Stepmother in the original rendition is caring and supportive in this telling. The Witch has vanished to be replaced by a beautiful Vampire unique to the breed. It is a tale of lost children, conflicted and also devoted characters, blazingly intricate and heart felt adult erotica. Villains, heroes and heroines are all oh so human. Complexity rules this universe.
The setting is nineteenth-century Germany in the deeper forests, plateaus and rivers of that country. The children love their Father and Stepmother. It is Hansel and Gretels desire to save their Stepmother that sends events spiraling out of control. Their parents plunge themselves into a desperate search to preserve the family integrity and return the young children back to the tender confines of their hearth and home.

Jeffrey Underwood graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology. Though he has practiced as a Registered Nurse for many years, he comes from a family of published authors. This work of his is his first serious attempt at writing as he has no prior published works. He currently resides in a suburb of Seattle, Washington and hopes that those who sample this tale enjoy the read.
