This book targets the key issues of both research and practice in innovation and strategic management fields and is regarded as one of the important works explaining enterprises from the innovation system perspective. The book is based on the existing literature involving national innovation system, regional innovation system, and industrial/sectional innovation system and reviews intra-organizational innovation system researches and inter-organizational innovation ecosystem literature. Jin Chen is a Professor of Innovation Management at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and the Director of Research Center of Technological Innovation at Tsinghua University, China. He went to MIT Sloan School of Management (USA) in 1998 as a visiting scholar, and SPRU of Sussex University (UK) as a visiting fellow in 2000. His primary research focus on management of technological innovation, and innovation policy. He was selected as one of the world’s top 50 management thinkers in 2021 (Thinkers50 Global Ranking). Champion of open innovation, indigenous innovation and total innovation, and he has developed the idea of holistic innovation which takes a systemic perspective to tech innovation. His theory of management argues that knowledge innovation and value rationality lie at management’s heart. He was honored as a distinguished professor of Chang Jiang scholars in 2014. He is the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Innovation Studies, Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Knowledge Management Studies.
