In 1908 two Irish American brothers leave their jobs on the docks of Hoboken, New Jersey to make their fortune tapping rubber trees in the South American rainforest. They expect to encounter floods, snakes, malaria, extreme hunger and unfriendly competitors, but nothing prepares them for the psychological hurdles that will befall them.

Over de auteur
Joan Schweighardt grew up in New Jersey and lived in Florida and New York before moving to New Mexico. Joan has worked as a freelance writer, editor and ghostwriter, a literary agent, and an indie book publisher over the years. Her own projects include six novels, a memoir, and several magazine article. She has received awards for her novel Gudrun’s Tapestry (republished as The Last Wife of Attila the Hun).
