‘Your First 10 Years of Life: . . . Is Only 164 Days. Heres Why.’ was a title chosen by Jocelyn to grab the attention of childrens parents in the bookstore. According to Jocelyn, she sees a lot of her friends wasting time and missing out on being a child. Jocelyn spends her days without an alarm clock, without tests, and with plenty of exploring. In this childrens book, Jocelyn breaks down, in an easy to understand way, how much time children spend doing what they are supposed to do and how much time is left for them to experience life as a child. As childhood is such a breathtakingly short period of our lives, Jocelyn speaks from a child to a child that wasting free time watching television or playing video games is not the only option.
Over de auteur
Jocelyn Evans is a seven-year-old girl who is homeschooled. She is the youngest of her siblings with two older brothers, ten and eleven years of age, who are also both published authors. Jocelyn follows her father’s footsteps with this children’s book, based upon homeschooled lessons taught in her daily mindfulness hour. Jocelyn’s days consist of two hours of math, reading, literature, and science, followed by one hour of mindfulness. The lesson in this book deals with Jocelyn’s favorite mindfulness lecture, which is to teach children to avoid the trap of the mechanical life: wake up, work, watch television, and sleep with occasional fun.
