John Cairns
Unbelief in the Eighteenth Century (Barnes & Noble Digital Library) [EPUB ebook]
As Contrasted with Its Earlier and Later History

Ondersteuning

This broad-ranging work by an eminent nineteenth-century theologian contrasts the skepticism of the Age of Reason with that of earlier centuries, as well as his own. Based on a series of lectures, topics include polytheism, deism, Pascal, Voltaire, Rousseau, John Stuart Mill, and many others—proving, among other points, that unbelief has passed from a defensive to an aggressive conviction.
