An Exact Exposition of the Orthodox Faith is a work of Christian priest John of Damascus and it presents a summary of the dogmatic writings of the Early Church Fathers. This work was the first work of systematic theology in Christianity and an important influence on later Scholastic works. The book begins with an argument for the existence of God, and covers many important dogmas and doctrines of the Church.

John of Damascus (675-749) was a Christian monk, priest, and apologist. A polymath whose fields of interest and contribution included law, theology, philosophy, and music, he served as a Chief Administrator to the Muslim caliph of Damascus before his ordination. He wrote works expounding the Christian faith, and composed hymns which are still used both liturgically in Christian practice throughout the world.
