‘To-morrow’ is a short story by Joseph Conrad, first published in 1902. The story revolves around a man named Gaspar Ruiz who, after fighting for the Spanish against the South Americans, escapes execution by the revolutionaries and finds himself on a small boat. He is picked up by an English ship, but his past threatens to catch up with him when he recognizes a passenger as the very man who sentenced him to death. The story explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the effects of one’s past actions on the present.
