Brought up in Lincolnshire, Judith Thomson studied Art in Leicester before moving to Sussex, where she still lives. She is passionate about the seventeenth century and has gained much of her inspiration from visits to Paris and Versailles. She has previously published High Heatherton (Matador, 2016), Designs of a Gentleman: The Early Years and Designs of a Gentleman: The Darker Years (Sacristy, 2014).
