Through oral history, it presents the social background and historical stage of the development of secondary normal education after the reform and opening-up, and analyzes the reasons for students’ enrollment, their admission status, and the training model. It demonstrates the professional ability and excellent quality of "specialized in one field with multiple skills" and comprehensive development of a generation of secondary normal school students, as well as their qualities of hardship endurance, dedication to their jobs, silent efforts, and selfless dedication. The book also expresses deep concern for their living conditions and the difficulties they face in career development. At the same time, the book calls on people to reflect on how to use secondary normal education as a mirror to re-examine the development and reform of current higher normal education, and cultivate teachers who are concerned about rural education.
