Emotional Explorers [EPUB ebook]
A Creative Approach to Managing Emotions

Ondersteuning

Emotional ecology is the art of sustainably managing our emotional world so that our affective energy serves us to grow as individuals, enhance the quality of our personal relationships, and improve the world we live in.
Emotional ecology offers a new, creative, and revolutionary approach in emotional education that simultaneously addresses emotional and environmental educational aspects, aiming to shape a new model of person: the emotionally ecological person.
In this volume, we will discover that life is a fascinating journey, and we will have the opportunity to explore and admire diverse territories. To embark on this journey, we must have the most suitable ‘baggage’ and a strong desire to seek and discover treasures. We will also work on building trust to confront our dragons and overcome our fears. Are you eager to be part of this adventure and become true emotional explorers?

Inhoudsopgave

Two worlds to care for
We are responsible for two worlds: our inner planet and our external planet, the Earth. What is our external planet like? Do we treat it with the respect it deserves, or do we over-exploit its resources and pollute it? What about our inner planet? What is it like? Do we take care of it?
Emotional landscapes
We can compare the situations we experience in our lives with the various landscapes the Earth offers. These are highly diverse (deserts, plains, grasslands, high mountains, seascapes, forests, jungles, etc.) and each landscape has its colors, which are equivalent to the emotions we feel. Do you want to travel through them?
The koi fish
The koi is a curious fish that grows in response to the fish tank in which it lives. We will use this metaphor to discuss the idea that, being humans and not fish, we can change our fish tank and build an ecosystem that enables us to develop our best characteristics. We will reflect on our spaces of personal growth, the resources available, and the methods of protection we often employ.
Maps and dragons
On the map of our life, we sometimes imagine dragons that stop us from continuing on our path. How can we protect ourselves from them? Do we place limits or erect barriers? Do we step backward or continue forward? If we isolate ourselves to avoid the pain others might inflict on us, we can end up alone and living in a very small world.
Creating protected spaces
There are delicate species in danger of extinction. To protect them, we create ‘protected spaces’ free from pollution, where they can grow without being damaged. We are responsible for creating these areas in our ‘inner planet.’

Over de auteur

Two of its innovative projects are the ÀMBITuniversit@rtdelviure program and its Master's in Emotional Ecology, which the authors co-direct. Their research and work in the context of humanist psychology and emotional management led them to develop a new concept of emotional ecology in 2002, which they have since advocated in eleven co-authored books. Both are lecturers and collaborating professors in a variety of master's degrees linked to emotional management, well-being, and personal growth at the University of Barcelona.
