Cynthia C. Yao is the founder of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and was responsible for its establishment, vision, leadership, management and success as Executive Director from August 1978 to April 2000. She has a graduate degree in Museum Practice (MMP) from the University of Michigan. In October 2005, Cynthia was inducted in the Michigan Women Os Hall of Fame and received the life achievement award of the Michigan Women Os Studies Association for the founding and success of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
