Pippa Goldschmidt wuchs in London auf und lebt heute in Edinburgh. Sie ist Absolventin des renommierten Masters-Kurs der University of Glasgow in Creative Writing. Die promovierte Astrophysikerin arbeitete mehrere Jahre als Astronomin am Imperial College, anschließend im öffentlichen Dienst, u.a. in der Weltraumbehörde.
2012 gewann sie den angesehenen Scottish Book Trust/Creative Scotland New Writers Award. Von 2008 bis 2012 war sie Writer-in-residence am ESRC Genomics Policy and Research Forum der Universtiy of Edinburgh. Ihr erster Roman „The Falling Sky“ erreichte den zweiten Platz beim Dundee International Book Prize. Ihre Kurzgeschichten erscheinen sowohl in englischer Sprache als auch in deutscher Übersetzung bei culturbooks.de.
