Sidney and Beatrice Webb were born out of disparate lifestyles – Sidney’s father was politically radical while Beatrice Potter’s family was affluent – and yet they were united in their passion for social reform. Sidney and Beatrice were more than prolific writers; they were founding members of the Fabian Society and of the London School of Economics.
