Published in 1890, this remarkable collection of dreams is notable for its surreal, poetic intensity. Some of the dreams are allegorical, while others have a wild quality to them, as if they flowed directly from the author’s unconscious onto the page. Includes what is perhaps Schreiner’s best-known short piece, ‘A Dream of Wild Bees.’
