detail the many problems associated with prisonization within the prison subculture. Further, it
informs the reader of the consequences of prisonization and the importance of research studies
influence on policies and penal reform. In addition, it illustrates ways criminal justice leadership can
implement organizational changes that criminal justice personnel may consider appropriate for the
work site. Lastly, it clarifies and emphasizes collaboration among inmates, families, criminal justice
personnel, stakeholders, and policy makers.
About the author
Omar Garrison is a former law enforcement officer and a professional military soldier. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently a member of The American Society of Criminology (ASC), The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS), and The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). His current book, A Guide to Effective Solutions for Reducing Prisonization is available in many bookstores. He has several potential books in progress, which will be published soon.
