I grew up in northern Indiana, near Lake Michigan. I loved time spent swimming and boating on Lake Michigan. My favorite times were walking in the woods and learning so much about wildlife and fish species in Indiana. Lots of vacations with my parents and brothers were in Brown County and Turkey Run, two beautiful parks in southern Indiana.
My husband, Rick, and I live in Warsaw, Indiana, on Chapman Lake. Spending time with our grandchildren, Tayler, Matthew, and Emma on the lake is how we discovered our “On The Pond” characters. The turtles on tires, sunning all day long; owls nesting in our tree; and the beavers building dams along the lake shores—I decided these experiences needed to be shared.
I have always enjoyed children’s stories and reading to my children and grandchildren while helping them write about their favorite characters. My grandchildren have inspired my books recently, encouraging me to publish the stories so they may share their friends on the pond.
