Paolo Mura holds a Ph D in Tourism from the University of Otago, New Zealand. An Italian by passport, he has lived and conducted research in Germany, Greece, the USA, New Zealand, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. He is currently an Associate Professor in tourism in the College of Communication and Media Sciences at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Overall, his research interests are on tourist behaviour, with a focus on young tourists’ experiences, gender, travelling subcultures and qualitative approaches to research.
