About the author

Peter Jenkins was born in Forest Gate, London,
towards the end of WW2. A grammar school
boy, he has a background in practical mechanical
engineering. After several years in the Merchant
Navy, he gave it all up to get married. He now has
two sons, a daughter, and several grandchildren.
Pete spent his middle years as a serving Police
Offi cer, and later, as proprietor of his own little taxi company. Now
retired, his interests lie in all country pursuits, a factor refl ected in this,
his fi rst novel. He is currently writing his autobiography, and the fi rst
sequel to Emily.
