Dr Camilla Parmeggiani was born in Fiesole, Italy. She obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2010 under the supervision of Prof. A. Goti, University of Florence. She investigated the synthesis of polyhydroxylated iminosugars with Prof. A. Goti at the University of Florence, organometallic addition to nitrones to obtain pyridine-based iminosugars with Prof. P. Merino during her degree work at the University of Zaragoza and allenes addition to nitrones with Prof. H.-U. Rei?ig at Freie Universität in Berlin during her Ph.D. course. She is currently doing a post-doctoral fellowship at CNR-INO working on liquid crystal elastomers syntheses with Prof. D. Wiersma.
