Carole Simpson is Leader in Residence and journalism professor at Emerson College in Boston. She returned to teaching after four decades as a broadcast journalist, first in her hometown of Chicago, then in the national network studios of NBC News and ABC News in Washington and New York. She serves as Journalist in Residence at Boston’s Museum of African American History and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children. She resides with her husband, Jim Marshall, in Boston and on Martha’s Vineyard.
