Katherine Hollywood obtained her Ph D from the School of Chemistry at the University of Manchester, UK, under the supervision of Professor Roy Goodacre. Her Ph D was focused on using a variety of analytical techniques to investigate the onset of skin disease. Katherine is currently employed as a PDRA on a BBSRC BRIC funded project that aims to use single cell technologies both spectroscopic and mass spectrometry-based to investigate cell heterogeneity and differentiation, with the aim of detecting and predicting differentiation status. Her research focus continues to use Raman spectroscopy and mass spectrometry-based metabolomics to investigate mammalian systems of clinical and bioprocessing importance, with the overall aim of driving forward the use of novel analytical technologies.
