Christian Ernsten is assistant professor of heritage studies at Maastricht University”s Department of History. He is affiliated with the Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage (MACCH).  Christian holds a Ph D in African studies from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and has completed visiting research fellowships at the Conservation Department of the University of Gothenburg and at Aarhus University”s Centre for Uses of the Past.
