James Lock, MD, Ph D, é Professor de Psiquiatria Infantil e Pediatria da Divisão de Psiquiatria da Criança e Adolescente e de Desenvolvimento Infantil do Departamento de Psiquiatria e Ciências Comportamentais da Universidade de Stanford. É diretor do Programa para Transtornos Alimentares da Divisão de Psiquiatria Infantil e diretor de psiquiatria de um programa de transtornos alimentares para pacientes infantis e adolescentes internados no Hospital Infantil Lucile Salter Packard, em Stanford. Formou-se em Psiquiatria Geral na UCLA e em Psiquiatria Infantil na Universidade da Califórnia, em Davis, Califórnia. Autor de numerosas publicações científicas, ele já recebeu o prêmio Early Career Development e foi o mais recente agraciado com o prêmio Mid-Career Developement Award, do NIMH, além de atuar como investigador principal em Stanford para um estudo de tratamento do NIMH.
