Pride of the Three Lions [EPUB ebook]
The untold story of the men and women who made the heroes of Wembley 1966

Wsparcie

The Wembley Wizards of 1966

Following on from Derek Niven’s genealogical histories in his Pride Series of footballing greats, Pride of the Three Lions turns its attention to the achievements of the England team who won the FIFA World Cup at Wembley in 1966.

It tells their stories from the viewpoint of the unsung people who made them, journeying through periods of profound social changes, poverty, World Wars, and the Great Depression.

These tales of family history help to crystallize what shaped these young Englishmen into a team that especially wanted to beat their arch-rivals, West Germany,  on that sunny afternoon on 30 July 1966 at Wembley Stadium.

About the author191

O autorze

Derek Niven is a pseudonym used by John Mc Gee, an ASGRA member, for factual and genealogical publications. Derek Beaugarde is known for his science fiction publications. John Mc Gee was born in 1956 in Corkerhill railway village, Glasgow, attending Mosspark Primary and Allan Glen’s schools. The late actor Sir Derek Bogarde spent three unhappy years at Allan Glen’s as a pupil named Derek Niven van den Bogaerde. Therefore, the observant reader will readily discern the origin of the two pseudonyms. After spending 34 years in the rail industry in train planning and accountancy John Mc Gee retired in 2007. In 2012 the idea for his science fiction novel emerged. 2084: The End of Days © Derek Beaugarde was published by Corkerhill Press in 2016. In the years leading up to 2084, seven disparate men and women across the globe battle with their own personal frailties and human tragedies. Suddenly, they are drawn together to fight for survival against the ultimate global disaster – Armageddon! 2084: The End of Days is available on Amazon websites.
