’A Doll’s House’ is a play that explores the complex web of social expectations and gender roles in late 19th-century Norway. The story centers on Nora Helmer, a housewife who appears to live a perfect life with her husband Torvald and their three children. However, as the play unfolds, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems. Nora is hiding a secret from her husband: she forged a signature to secure a loan that allowed the family to travel to Italy, which was crucial to her husband’s health.
