Pride and Prejudice follows the turbulent relationship between Elizabeth Bennet, the daughter of a country gentleman, and Fitzwilliam Darcy, a rich aristocratic landowner. They must overcome the titular sins of pride and prejudice in order to fall in love and marry. Pride and Prejudice was originally titled First Impressions.
The famous first sentence of Pride and Prejudice is: It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
This book is a reprint of the famous Peacock Edition with illustrations by Hugh Thomson.
