Reflections on Life is a series of poems covering one mans journey through lifeits trials, failures, successes, and dreams. It is a reflection of lifes true values and ultimate satisfaction. This collection is dedicated to my friends and my family, who have given me love and comfort. I especially thank my mother, who has supported me in hard times without reservation, and my wife, Frances, who encourages me every day to write. I hope you enjoy reading these poems as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

John R. Matthews is retired and lives on a small ranch in Luling, Texas, with his wife, Frances. He spends a lot of time in their cliffside cabin by a small running creek in the deep woods with very tall pecan trees. He is a former intelligence officer, senior executive with a Fortune 50 company, and high school English teacher. He is a graduate of Texas A&M with graduate studies at University of Michigan Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and University of Texas at Arlington. He is an active member of the local Central Baptist Church.
