Kanika Basu is General Manager (Jt) at Housing and Urban Development Corporation, New Delhi, specialises in Urban Planning and is currently engaged in projects related to the improvement of living conditions in slums, housing for the urban poor, and micro-finance for better livelihood promotion. Ms. Basu’s research interests relate to people’s perspectives and participation in development processes and tourism led development.  Amitabh Kundu is currently Distinguished Fellow at Research and Information System and World Resources Institute. He was Professor at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development and Dean of the School of Social Sciences,  Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (India). He has written extensively on Urban Studies, Employment, and Regional Planning and is on the editorial board of many Indian and international journals.  Habibullah Magsi works at the Department of Agricultural Economics at Sindh Agriculture University (Pakistan). His research focuses on Development Economics and professor Magsi’s department’s current project is ‘Proximate driving forces of „land use conflicts” in developing countries’.  Sumana Bandyopadhyay is a professor at the Department of Geography of University of Calcutta (India), specialized in Urban and Regional Planning. She has published scientific peer-reviewed articles and books and is involved in a number of interdisciplinary projects on applied environmental, societal, and development matters. She is currently President, Regional Science Association, India. Tomaz Ponce Dentinho is a professor of Regional, Environmental, and Agriculture Economics at the University of Azores (Portugal). Dr Dentinho is as well responsible for the Regional Cooperation Research Program of the Brussels-based think tank South Asia Democratic Forum (SADF) and the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Regional Science Policy and Practice.
