If we encourage children to; focus on their strengths, ask for help, try new things, and appreciate their differences, they can develop a healthy self esteem.

But what can happen is they notice not just differences but that one person has 'more’ and one person has 'less.’ They start to see not having something as meaning they are not enough: good enough, intelligent enough, or even kind enough.
The fairy brings an element of magic into this story. Believing in magic helps children have a more flexible and curious mindset. They can then create a sense of wonder when reflecting on their special gift. These traits help develop a growth-mindset, which allows for possibility, creativity, and overall happiness.
