O autorze

After gaining his MD from Ege University School of Medicine, İzmir, Turkey in 1984, Dr. Mehmet Turgut specialized in neurosurgery in Hacettepe University Hospital, Ankara, Turkey. Since 1995 he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery, Adnan Menderes University School of Medicine, Aydın, Turkey. He has been principal investigator in a lot of major research projects and his research interests include infectious diseases of the central nervous system, clinic and laboratory investigations upon developmental neuroscience and neurosurgery, stereology, pineal research and melatonin, as well as medical history. Dr. Turgut, a member of Turkish Society of Hydatidology, serves as a member of editorial boards of many peer-reviewed international journals indexed by SCI-Expanded and other indexes He is an active experienced neurosurgeon who understands the needs of his colleagues related to craniospinal hydatidosis. Dr. Turgut has more than 250 publications and presentations to his name; most of the publications have been in peer-reviewed international journals and a considerable number have focused on hydatid disease.
