Michael J. Trebilcock es licenciado y máster en Derecho, especialista en Derecho y Economía, Derecho Mercantil Internacional y Derecho de la Competencia. Es profesor en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Toronto y profesor visitante de la Universidad de Nueva York y de la Escuela de Derecho de Harvard, entre otras. En 1999, fue elegido miembro extranjero honorario de la Academia Estadounidense de las Artes y las Ciencias. Ha recibido diversos premios por su obra: en 1989 la Foundation for Legal Research de Ontario le otorgó el Owen Prize por su libro The Common Law of Restraint of Trade, y en 2010 se lo distinguió con el Ontario Premier's Discovery Award en Ciencias Sociales. Mariana Mota Prado se graduó en Derecho en la Universidad de San Pablo y realizó su maestría y doctorado en la Escuela de Derecho de Yale. Es profesora asociada en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Toronto. Su trabajo de investigación se centra en los temas de derecho y desarrollo, industrias reguladas y derecho comparado. Fue profesora en el Center for Transnational Legal Studies en Londres, en la Escuela de Derecho de la Fundación Getulio Vargas (Brasil), y en las facultades de derecho de la Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) y de la Universidad de Puerto Rico.
