Michelle has a passion for helping kids believe in themselves. Whether that means learning to handle their anxiety or finding their special abilities, Michelle is ready for the challenge.
Since she was a little girl, Michelle has always wanted to be a teacher. She earned her BS at Lebanon Valley College in Elementary Education in 1995. After graduation she became a classroom teacher in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. Several years later, she earned her MS from Shippensburg University in Special Education. As a learning support teacher, she became passionate for helping kids find ways to succeed despite their struggles.
In 2001, Michelle was in a powered parachuting accident the left her paralyzed from the chest down. This period of her life brought new opportunities that she never expected. Writing helped Michelle heal and her first children”s book, New Opportunities, was published in 2005. Since then doors have continued to open for her. In 2012, Michelle wrote Scubability alongside Jim Elliott of Diveheart. Shortly after, Michelle wrote Go Away Worries! Put Them in The Worry Jar. Her newest book, The Worry Jar, rounds up her 2017 book team.
In 2011, Michelle earned her Ph D in Education from Capella University. Leading by example, she shows others the only limitations you have are the ones you put on yourself. Michelle resides in Lebanon, PA with her fiancé, dad, and fur babies. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends.
