Zsolt Almási is Reader in English Literature in the Institute of English and American Studies, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Hungary. He has published on the philosophy and literature of the English early modern period. His recent book is The Problematics of Custom as Exemplified in Key Texts of the Late English Renaissance (Lewiston-Queenston-Lampeter: The Edwin Mellen Press, 2004). His current research projects focus on Francis Bacon and on Machiavelli”s influence on the Renaissance English thought.Mike Pincombe is the Convenor of the Tudor Symposium and Professor of Tudor and Elizabethan Literature at Newcastle University. He has written books on The Plays of John Lyly (1996) and Elizabethan Humanism (2001). He is presently working on a book on mid-Tudor tragedy, and editing (with Cathy Shrank: Sheffield) The Oxford Handbook of Tudor Literature (forthcoming: 2009).
