Nathaniel Parker Willis, commonly known as N. P. Willis, was an eminent American author, poet, and editor who played a significant role in the American literary scene of the 19th century. A graduate of Yale College, he quickly emerged as a distinctive literary figure with his amalgamation of travel literature, poetry, and journalistic prose. Willis”s wide-ranging body of work, which includes titles such as „Pencillings by the Way” and „Inklings of Adventure”, solidified his place in the American literary tradition before his death on January 20, 1867.
