The novel intertwines four tales in four countries: Ezekiel, a low-level drug dealer from England, tasked with saving the world; Parvati, a Dalit from India who marries a high-caste Kshatriya and starts to read people’s thoughts whenever they touch her; Abu, an albino former street-child from Nigeria who hears Allah speaking to him when he prays telling him to create an Islamic caliphate; and Eve, the Secretary of State for the United States government hellbent on gaining power and status.
