Peter Fitzpatrick es Aniversary Professor de Derecho en la Universidad de Londres, Birbeck College (Reino Unido) y profesor emérito de la Universidad de Kent. En el año 2007 fue galardonado con el premio James Boyd White de la Asociación para el Estudio del Derecho, la Cultura y las Humanidades (ASLCH) de la Universidad de Syracuse (EE.UU.). Ha enseñado en varias universidades de Europa, Estados Unidos y Papúa Nueva Guinea. Su obra aborda temas de filosofía del derecho, derecho y teoría social, derecho y racismo e imperialismo.
