This book would serve as a resource to pharmacists in identifying common work and home struggles, describing how challenges are addressed. Advice and recommendations for pharmacists from pharmacist who are parents are presented in this book, recommending available options to help support and achieve the successful balance that seems nearly impossible in today’s fast-paced world. Both traditional and non-traditional households will benefit from the advice shared.
The book features writing that exerts a playful nod to medicine that will appeal to the more scientific side of the pharmacist’s brain. Chapters are formatted to feature a “diagnosis, ” “recommendations, ” and “patient education”. The “diagnoses” describe struggles, “recommendations” offer options for addressing the struggle, and “patient education” provides additional resources or suggestions that may help.

Dr. Rosalyn Padiyara Vellurattil has served as an educator, researcher, and mentor in academia since 2004. She is currently Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy, and holds appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor in the department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, completed a specialty residency in primary care with a focus on education from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy, and fellowship training in teaching excellence at the UIC College of Medicine. She was the recipient of the 2016 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Award for Excellence in Assessment, the 2018 Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions Award for Excellence in Educational Design, and the 2019 AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award. She is also an alumnus of the AACP Academic Leadership Fellowship Program.
