Ed Russo wrote a story to awaken society about the crimes of human trafficking and slavery prostitution that exist here in America. Even though The Mermaid’s Curse is a sci-fi horror crime mystery novel, it still shows the truth about human trafficking and human slavery in America. Many people are unaware of this insidious crime that takes place in this country. Another issue that is addressed in this novel is the corruption of some officers of the law who are mixed up in organized crime. This story takes place in a small town called New Kensington, and also in New Jersey. Even though these places may not be a stronghold for the Russian mafia. but places such as New York and Los Angeles are places that harbor human slaves as prostitutes. In the midst of this is an ancient secret society of non- human vampiric beings that secretly walk among us. These beings are in all walks of life and pull the strings behind human affairs.
